I don’t really recall the original TV series, Starsky and Hutch. It was a good family occasion back then. We all sit, and relish episode after episode of two cops in Ford Torino battling bad guys. Normal cop stuff. Now, the remake with Ben Stiller in it was not initially welcomed. But people have learned to embrace it. Me? I don’t know. I don’t want to compare it to the TV series, because I don’t remember it well. But as a comedy action flick, this movie borders on stinkeroo. It is not funny at all. Okay, there are a moment or two, but that’s it. And there are endless unsubtle hints at homosexuality, but do we need that? Yeah, it might make teen kids snicker. So be it. This movie might make it good in the eighties, when mismatched cop partners battle bad guys. Speaking of bad guys, Vince Vaughn should seriously consider his career directions. |
